About the Artist

Marichit Garcia is a self-taught, late-blooming artist from the Philippines. Her work is a fairy tale world in pieces, slowly being stitched together one artwork, one poem, one story fragment at a time. 

 

She works with watercolors, gouache, graphite, and inks. Sometimes with acrylics, sometimes with various ephemera, thread, found objects, and the various scraps left behind by nostalgia and memory.

She works full-time as an artist and is employed full-time in a communication agency. All her paycheck goes to the household as she is the primary breadwinner in the family. Hence, any help specifically for her art will be much appreciated. She currently lives with and supports her parents, a sibling, twelve rescued cats, and a turtle.
