Daily Artist (Rambling) Notes:
Yesterday, until way into the evening, I updated my Etsy shop from 40+ listings to 80 listings. So do drop by -- there's a quite a lot of potential art gifts for the holidays below $50.
Despite that I was a bit frustrated at not having done more. As far as I was concerned that was just ONE task. So I had to remind myself that it involved more than a handful of sub-tasks to get done (photographing each product by itself and then in context, editing the photos, uploading, doing the write-up, computing for price, testing the links, reviewing the published content, promoting on social media -- on top of removing from and putting back into storage said items which can be a tedious task as my tiny space does not allow for convenient storage)
Yesterday I also decided to claim and purchase my own domain name, along with a starter plan for this website so that I get more analytics and gain access to more features. Overall I also want my online presence to be more serious and professional -- that is, I want people to know I'm doing and being this Artist Thing for real and for life. It's not a sideline, not a hobby, not a stress-reliever, not an escape, not just a therapy. A career? Yes, but defined less like how a career is usually defined. I'm aiming for that sweet spot of vocation, calling, profession, human responsibility -- simply that I have to make a living out of it as well as live authentically, to be alive in every sense of the word.
Today I intend to get started on the other items on the list I made yesterday morning. I want to spend a few hours in a cafe for some daylight and fresh air but we'll see -- funds are tight today as I've been taking on a bit more financial share in the household than usual. On the other hand -- well, the store's all stocked up, something should move at some point, right? Enough to afford me a cup of coffee at least that will buy me an hour of sunlight. (And a movie ticket to Thor Ragnarok next week? Heehee)
I need one more tall lamp in the tiny studio. There's this "gap" in the spill of light that makes me strain my eyes. I need a full wash of bright light in the whole area. Darn it, I need windows.
I've made a computation for paying for my windows, space, and light -- that coworking space I've been mentioning in my social media posts. It'll give me a discount if I rent a desk for a full month but I've computed for full price just to have a clear picture of how much it actually costs. It all totals to about $690, including meals and fares for a whole day. I've already tried doing studio work there for a day last week and it was good.
I made a poll about my holiday selling targeted to local buyers. I've braced myself for zero responses, hahaha!
Alright, I'll wrap this up. So much to do, so little of everything else!
